As the excitement builds for the 46th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon, we are thrilled to introduce another exceptional team competing in the TEAM UP! Europe rivalry project: the Germany Team. Representing Germany on the marathon course will be two elite athletes, Nic Ihlow and Florentine Beese, both of whom bring impressive personal achievements and a shared passion for marathon running. Competing both individually and as part of the team rivalry project, Nic and Florentine are set to make their mark at this prestigious event.

Nic Ihlow: From Steeplechase to Marathon Excellence

Nic Ihlow, a 29-year-old runner from Leipzig, Germany, has made significant strides in the world of long-distance running. Originally competing in 3000m steeplechase events, Nic transitioned to marathon running in 2019 and has been dedicated to improving his performance ever since. His personal best of 2:15:07, set in 2022, showcases his determination and ability to compete at an elite level.

With his background in teaching and his passion for running, Nic brings a unique perspective to the race, combining his love for the sport with his dedication to inspiring the next generation.

Florentine Beese: Passionate Marathon Runner with a Drive for Success

Alongside Nic, Florentine Beese from Hannover, Germany, is ready to bring her marathon expertise to the Warsaw Marathon. Florentine’s passion for long-distance running has fueled her journey to become one of Germany’s top marathon runners, with a personal best of 2:42:12. In addition to her running career, Florentine is currently studying to become a physiotherapist, balancing her academic pursuits with her love for the sport.

Florentine thrives on the challenges of marathon training, particularly enjoying long runs and tempo sessions, which have helped her fine-tune her racing abilities. As part of the Germany team, Florentine is eager to showcase her strength and endurance on the international stage.

With her combination of athletic passion and a focus on health and fitness, Florentine is a crucial member of the Germany team and a strong contender in both the individual and team competitions.
