TEAM UP! Europe – professional team contest
  1. TEAM UP! Europe is a team competition format (further referred to as “competition”) organised as part of the 45th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon on September 24, 2023. 
  2. The competition is to comprise six teams invited by the organiser of the 45th  Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon. Final choice of teams is up to the organiser. Each team is represented by an invited team manager, who is fully responsible for the team’s operations.  
  3. Each team must include three or four runners with both genders represented. ALL team members must be citizens of a European country (in the sense of European Athletics membership rules). 
  4. Participation of runners who underwent the gender regulation process must respect the current World Athletics rules. 
  5. Athletes representing Russia are excluded from the competition. Athletes from Belarus may be enrolled for the competition only if they are political refugees and if they submit a declaration of disagreement with their state policies. In case of registration of athletes from Belarus, the final decision about their right to start will always be an exclusive right of the organiser. 
  6. Qualifying times  for the competition are: 2:22 for men and 2:50 for women. 
  7. Team submissions must be made by electronic means of communication no later than on June 30, 2o23.
  8. The organiser will choose six teams and inform all the applying teams about the decisions no later than on July 3rd, 2023. 
  9. Each team manager and runners, as well as the organiser, sign the participation agreement that specifies mutual rights and duties. 
  10. After submitting the list of team members, the manager can make a maximum of two changes in the team set-up, and each of the substitute runners has to meet the criteria specified in points 3, 4, 5 and 6 above. Irrespective of meeting those criteria, each substitution will be subject to the final conformation by the organiser. 
  11. Each team’s final result will be based on the World Athletics point scores calculator https://caltaf.com/pointscalc/calc.html and will reflect: the best male score, the best female score and the better of the remaining scores achieved by the team members in the 45. Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon. 
  12. Should two or more teams reach the same point score, the final ranking will be based on the point score of the fourth team member. If that fourth point score is identical, the teams will be ranked on the same position. 
  13. For the team to be classified, at least two team members must finish the race. 
  14. Division of prizes in the competition:
  1. place – EUR 20,000  
  2. place – EUR 12,000  
  3. place – EUR 9,000  
  4. place – EUR 6,000  
  5. place – EUR 5,000 
  6. place – EUR 4,000  
  1. The amounts in point 14 are subject to taxes.
  2. Division of prizes within each team is up to the team manager’s decision.
  3. The organiser will cover reasonable and substantiated costs of flight, stay and subsistence for the manager and four runners of each of the six invited teams. 
  4. Apart from the prizes mentioned in point 14, the participants will not receive any additional material or financial benefits (incl. the so-called “start fee”).
  5. The right to interpret these regulations will exclusively belong to the organiser of the 45. Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon.
TEAM UP! Everyone – amateur teams
  1. TEAM UP! Everyone is a team competition (further referred to as “competition”), part of the 45th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon on September 24, 2023.
  2. Teams consisting of runners with the bib numbers of the 45th Nationale-Nederlanden of the Warsaw Marathon may be entered for the competition. Each team is represented by a team captain (manager), who registers the team and is solely responsible for its overall operation.
  3. Each team must consist of a minimum of three and a maximum of four runners, with a requirement for both genders within the team (at least one male and at least one female member).
  4. Participation of athletes who have undergone a gender reassignment process is in accordance with World Athletics regulations.
  5. Runners representing Russia are excluded from the competition. CItizens of Belarus can be entered to compete only if they are political refugees and if they submit a declaration of disagreement with their country’s policy. In the event of submitting a competitor from Belarus, the final decision as to their participation is at the sole discretion of the organizer.
  6. The team application must be submitted electronically by September 21, 2023.
  7. After submitting the list of runners, the team captain may make up to two changes in the line-up by September 10, 2023, subject to the rules set out in points 3, 4 and 5. Regardless of the fulfillment of these conditions, each change requires final approval by the organizer.
  8. The final result of the team will be calculated on the basis of the World Athletics point conversion https://caltaf.com/pointscalc/calc.html and will be the sum of: a) the best male score and b) the best female score and c) the better of the other 2 scores obtained by team members in the 45th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon.
  9. If two (or more) teams have the same score, the final order will be determined by the score of the fourth member of the team. If this factor does not determine the order, the teams will be classified in the same place.
  10. For a team to be classified, a minimum of two members must complete the race.
  11. The highest ranked team in TEAM UP! Everyone (consisting only of people holding passports of European Athletics member countries) will be classified additionally in the TEAM UP! Europe contest, in a place in accordance with the rules set out in the regulations of this competition and will receive a prize corresponding to the place taken.
  12. Interpretation of these regulations is at the sole discretion of the 45th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon organizer.
